Can't sign in, or sign-in is temporarily blocked
Repeated wrong passwords pause sign-in for a few minutes. Your account is not locked, and resetting your password clears it.
What you see
Sign-in says the password is wrong, or that there have been too many attempts.
- Incorrect email or password.
- Too many sign-in attempts. Please wait a few minutes and try again, or reset your password.
- Reset link has expired. Please request a new one.
- Reset link is invalid or has already been used. If you requested multiple reset emails, please use the most recent one.
Why it happens
Sign-in answers the same way whether or not an address has an account, so a stranger cannot use the form to find out who is registered. After several wrong passwords the form pauses for a few minutes — a pause, not a lock: nobody else can trigger it against you, and it clears on its own. Reset links last 1 hour, and only the newest one works.
How to fix it
- Check you're using the email you signed up with.
- If you've been asked to wait, try again in a few minutes.
- Press Forgot password and follow the newest email. Your recovery email works too.
- Two-factor turned on and the device is gone? Choose “Lost your device? Use a recovery code” on the code screen.
- If you were invited to a team, accept the invitation from your email first.
- Still stuck? Contact support from the email on your account.
